Frank got his first 20 pound weight set for his birthday at age 9 and
has not looked back, beginning a 30+ year relationship with fitness.
With the advent of some health issues, actually a laundry list of them
including degenerating disks in the lumbar region, Frank sought out
new strategies. The old strategy of 3 sets X 10 reps of a pile of
isolation exercises was stagnant at best and exacerbating injuries or
causing more damage at worst. Frank delved back into the Science of
Fitness through the writings of the late, Mel Siff, one of the best, if not
THE best fitness expert of all time.
Further, during Back Rehab, Kettlebells were introduced (sometimes
pronounced kettleballs and even cattleballs by some newbies) as a
means of strengthening the low back and reducing instability. As most
people find, once you grab hold of them, they’re pretty addicting.
Frank met Pavel Tsatsouline at the Arnold Classic Fitness Expo and
decided Pavel’s strategies and Kettlebell training were EXACTLY what
was needed to propel his own fitness as well as his client’s to the next
level.
Frank obtained his first Certification through Pavel and DragonDoor
back in 2004 and has again Certified in 2006. He founded Midwest
Kettlebell in 2004 and has offered several Kettlebell Workshops and 1-
on-1 training sessions throughout northern Illinois.
Frank recently produced the DVD “Kettlebells, Strength Training and
More!” in order to offer the most comprehensive and effective training
video at an unmatched price. Frank's goal is to provide the best
priced, ULTIMATE Kettlebell training video and get the word out on
this great tool, other competitors charge outrageous amounts, even
triple my cost, for one third of the running time, and the information
is no different that what is taught by Pavel himself. Additionally, he's
included information that isn't covered by any other DVD on the
market such as supplementation, motivation, and anti-aging strategies.
Frank has incorporated Kettlebell training into a whole new Personal
Training Philosophy designed to not only start beginners on the
correct/safe path (Frank believes most of his injuries could’ve been
avoided early on in his lifting career with proper technique and
instruction) but to enhance already gifted athletes’ abilities.
Further, the Kettlebell and Strength Training techniques are perfectly
suited for aging individuals. Frank himself, at age 43, has reduced his
%bodyfat from 28% down to 10% while still matching or nearly
matching his personal bests in the Deadlift, pull-ups, bench press,
clean&jerk, and 1 mile run.
Frank prides himself on his ability to boil down complex information
into “bite sized chunks” for his clients. He prefers to be regarded as a
Teacher/Facilitator rather than a dictator or drill sergeant…but if you
have a masochistic side, Frank will be happy to oblige…by no means
do you get off easy.
Philosophies/Mission:
Simplify and Intensify
Cutting out waste and focusing on intensity are keys to longevity.
Longevity at the biological level and in regards to sticking with the
program. Simple diets are easy to follow and maintain.
Simple training programs, with fewer exercises but "full body" rather
than "isolation" will be easier to track, follow and maintain.
It brings beginners up to speed the quickest and brings elite athletes
back to the basics….where it all begins…strength training.
Still not convinced?
Need Proof??
Anyone can gather testimonials from novice trainees...beginners
generally show improvement no matter how they train as long as they
provide some kind of effort.

The following testimonials are from my peers, highly respected Fitness Specialists with
tremendous experience, and who I feel can provide you with the best, objective examples of
my abilities. You can't "hide anything" from trainers with these types of credentials!
I have known Frank Holas, RKC since 1996. In that time I have observed his intense dedication to training and
health. For the record, I also consider him a friend.
In spite of my academic training in biomechanics, and experience with kettlebell training since about 1999, Frank
has still been able to consistently help me refine my kettlebell techniques to ensure safe and effective results.
Specifically, Frank analyzed my swing, one-legged deadlift and windmill techniques, then provided demonstration
and feedback that immediately improved my performance. I had already bought and read pretty much everything
by Pavel, but hearing Frank’s instructions and corrective advice worded differently seemed to really drive home
the key points to technique. There is a big difference between “doing” and “teaching” and Frank can do BOTH.
This seems to be a key benefit to working with an RKC qualified instructor. I strongly recommend working with
Frank whether you are a beginner or an advanced trainee.

Dear Frank,
Thanks for the incredible KB instruction yesterday, I’m sore in places I didn’t know even had muscles! You’re a
great instructor/teacher, very patient and very thorough. I can’t wait to put the new KB’s to work again!
Thanks again, I look forward to working with you in the future!

I spent several hours with Frank in a one on one capacity learning kettlebell exercise’s and techniques. My
primary goal for getting with Frank was to learn technique and additional exercises. Frank has a good eye for
attention to detail, maintained professionalism throughout the entire private training session. Frank was very
personal, willing to listen and answer any questions I had. He explained kettlebell technique and safety in a
simple, yet thorough manner. I would highly recommend Frank as a kettlebell instructor. Since my training
session with Frank, I have integrated kettlebells into the
training programs I use with the athletes I train. Additionally, I have used kettlebells along with my Olympic lifting
background to successfully train myself and my daughter, to climb two mountains in the Grand Teton National
Forest

Other Testimonials from a highly trained athlete and Learning and Development Professional:
My first session with Frank and his Kettlebells was great! It's amazing how simple structured movements with
added weights can activate muscles you never thought you had. It's really a great way to exercise your whole
body. Using the Kettlebells instead of regular weights make it much easier to control and more comfortable for the
exercises which means I'll do them more often. It's a great program. Thanks Frank!
